We sadly lost a much-loved colleague and friend in May 2021. John Berry was our site supervisor. He passed away after suffering a sudden heart attack.

John worked at the school for well over 10 years and was a hugely significant figure within our school community. His warmth, good humour, kindness and capacity for hard work made him very popular with colleagues.  

Nothing was ever too much trouble for John when it came to supporting others and he was the kind of person who nobody ever had a bad word to say about. Put simply, he was a thoroughly decent man and he will be sorely missed.  

The school has also introduced the ‘John Berry Award for Exceptional Service’ in John’s honour. The inaugural winner at the last Awards Evening in September was Sixth Form Student Support Advisor, Jan Littler.
